Abstract
This presentation looks at the importane of research data management in the recent Science 2.0 (Open Science) consultation led by the European Commission. It then examines the main findings of the 'LERU Roadmap for Research Data' and the opportunities presented by the new EU-funded LEARN (LEaders Activating Research Networks) project. The presentation then suggests 4 areas in which research funders can make a difference in research data management, for they have a key role to play.
