Abstract

This toolkit emphasizes the significance of arts-based methodologies in research, particularly for marginalised and underserved communities. It showcases the benefits and challenges of using these methods in various global contexts. The report is structured into three sections, providing an overview of 16 projects, emerging themes, and best practice tools. It aims to serve as a resource for academics and practitioners using arts-based research methodologies. The toolkit is a result of a year-long collaboration between UCL and Wits, supported by the UCL-Wits Bilateral Partnership Development Seed Fund.
