Abstract

Sociocultural factors that influence the development of multiculturalism in Ukrainian society are studied, considering its history, culture, and traditions. The main problems affecting the perception of multiculturalism in modern Ukraine are recorded. An analysis of the regional features of changes in the socio-cultural portrait of the modern Zakarpattia region due to the movement of subjects of internal migration to Zakarpattia from regions that potentially became a zone of aggression by the Russian Federation in the context of its war against Ukraine is made. It is indicated that this region has always been filled with the course of specific regional social and political events, phenomena, and processes, primarily related to the dynamic mosaic of social, ethno-national, and confessional relations, unique geographical and climatic conditions, border territorial status, socio-cultural aspects of the formation of regional culture and behavior and generally a complex and dynamic history at the crossroads of economic, trade, national and cultural paths in Central Europe. Attention is focused on the fact that with the beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine, the population of the region increased by a third due to internally displaced persons, which in the conditions of the war affects further socio- cultural changes. It is emphasized that the main criterion affecting the socio-cultural characteristics is the human factor, the population inhabiting the region at a specific moment. The conditions and consequences of sociocultural adaptation of immigrants in a new regional environment for them are presented. Characteristic features of heterogeneity of processes of regional socialization and socio-cultural adaptation are determined.
