Abstract
The Cosmic Noon marks an epoch in the history of the Universe, when it was bustling with star formation activity and the cosmic star formation rate (SFR) reached its peak. Despite being a well-studied redshift regime, questions regarding the evolution of the star-forming galaxies before, during and after the cosmic noon are awaiting satisfactory answers. This thesis is concerned with the after part, i.e. how the star formation changes in the cosmic afternoon. I study star formation in galaxies within the redshift range 0.6−1.2, using observations from the XMM-Newton Optical Monitor (OM) and the Herschel Space Observatory.
