Abstract
The current method of normalising the AV1451 tau-PET signal is shown to lack a consistency in CN paired scans that we do not attribute to random noise. Data exploration shows how multiple reference regions could be used to achieve better consistency within scans, improving the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Additionally, due to the different behaviour of subcortical regions in the brain, the new method could see some improvement by adjusting to each region. Studies based on this radiotracer might benefit from selecting a subset of regions with a higher SNR.
