Abstract
Strengthening the quality of doctoral supervision remains a global issue; meanwhile, the pandemic has shifted the range and evidence of effective approaches to supervisory interactions, bringing with that both opportunities and challenges for all those involved. This keynote draws on the scholarly evidence base, and on Jennie’s current project that focuses on collaborative, evidence-informed supervisory development in southern Africa, to analyse such issues for the ‘new normal’ post-pandemic. A key aim of the project is to support more equitable and mutually-beneficial participation of established and emerging academics in the global south, in global academic interactions and communities.
