Abstract

The first in this three part series on the Brexit trade and cooperation agreement between the EU and the UK focused on the institutional framework as well as the provision of services. This second part of this series of articles concentrates on the free movement of goods and customs, two issues that played a key role in the negotiations on withdrawal and are particularly crucial in respect of the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland, the only land border between the EU and the United Kingdom. The special status of Northern Ireland and the impact on trade routes as well as the declarations of conformity and labelling requirements in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain are among some of the major focal points of this part.
