Abstract
El artículo reflexiona sobre las contradicciones entre el derecho a la ciudad desde la propuesta de Henri Lefebvre y el régimen neoliberal en Chile. Concretamente, se revisan dos principios materiales de esta teoría: democratizar el acceso a la vida urbana desde los costos de vida y la concentración del control sobre la producción del espacio por una clase dominante. El texto ilustra algunas dificultades pragmáticas para llevar adelante una agenda por el derecho a la ciudad si primero no se logra separar a los procesos urbanos del neoliberalismo. El aporte teórico de este artículo es revisar la factibilidad del derecho a la ciudad desde dos aspectos críticos de la ciudad neoliberal: la concentración del capital urbano y los costos de vida. Estas contradicciones se presentan como oportunidades para hacer que la disputa por el derecho a la ciudad sea también una lucha contra el neoliberalismo. / This article reflects on the contradictions between the right to the city proposed by Henri Lefebvre with the neoliberal regime in Chile. These contradictions emerge when reviewing the material aspects of everyday life. For grasping these gaps we employed two material principles of the right to the city: democratising everyday life from the perspective of living costs and the concentration in a hegemonic class of control power over the processes of the production of space. The article illustrates some factual difficulties to address the agenda of the right to the city. The main result of this research is the suggestion that urban processes must emancipate from neoliberalism in order to put forward the right to the city. The theoretical contribution of this article is to review how feasible is the idea of the right to the city in Chile and how the obstacles may serve to engage in a contestation of urban processes as a double-sided strategy for overthrow neoliberalism from everyday practices and implement the right to the city.
