Abstract
Keskaegne Islandi saagakirjandus on Euroopa kultuuriloo üks omapärasemaid ja põnevamaid peatükke. Hrafnkeli saaga, mille tegevus toimub umbes aastatel 925–950, on kirja pandud ajavahemikus 1280–1350, ning Gunnlaugi saaga, mille tegevus leiab aset umbkaudu 990–1010, tõenäoliselt mõnevõrra varem, umbes aastatel 1270–1300.
