| Additional information: | This paper is the first to use the adult learning module of the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children. Building on the previous literature, we use the rich, longitudinal data to examine whether the intergenerational benefits of parental adult education exist over and above the achievement of parental qualifications during schooling. Our results suggest that while maternal adult learning is beneficial for her own wellbeing, it is not a key factor for improvement in children’s test scores in adolescence. |
