Additional information: This chapter discusses research carried out at the IOE looking at QA/QE in e-learning, and relates it to working carried out in other UK HEIs, and to the formation of the Higher Education Academy funded QA-QE in E-learning SIG. It forms a part of a book – ‘Transforming Higher Education through Technology-Enhanced Learning’ - which reports on four years of HEA/JISC funded activity in the area of embedding e-learning in HE (involving some 77 HEIs working in over 40 projects), and reflects on those processes, putting them within a wider international context.
