Abstract
This piece discusses a recent activist initiative being promoted by leading international NGOs seeking to deploy international human rights law to combat global poverty and economic inequality. In the process it offers some broader reflections on the politics of human rights law activism in the economic sphere. It is based on a longer forthcoming book chapter, to be published in the collected courses of the Academy of European Law at the European University Institute, Florence.
