Abstract
In this short chapter chapter, I object to three rather central claims in Lord Sumption’s speech ‘The Limits of Law’: on the legitimacy of judicial interpretation in public law; about his conception of democracy and the role of judicial review therein; and on the utility of the concept of polycentricity as a guide to justiciability.
