Abstract
Kieren Reed spent two years visiting the park to develop a new project that merges the interests of the young people he has met with his own research and practice as an artist. The result is a new use-able sculpture made of many parts that can be arranged and re-arranged into an infinite series of sculptures. As part of the project, different versions of ‘Gather’ were gifted to local schools and groups in the vicinity of Shoebury Park, with whom Reed worked with in early phases of the project. These include St George’s Catholic Primary School, Hinguar Community Primary School and Richmond Avenue Primary School, all of whom are located in close proximity to Shoebury Park.
