Abstract
This paper is about the role of innovation champions and the ways innovation is or was championed and promoted in five construction megaprojects in London: 2012 Olympics, Crossrail railway, the underground Bank Station Upgrade, Thames Tideway Tunnel and High Speed Two (HS2). It builds on previous studies and argues that innovation champions play a crucial role in stimulating and promoting innovations in megaprojects.
