Abstract
Many techniques have been developed for setting up computer networks, and a considerable body of expertise has now been built up on their utility. The next area for the experimental application of theory is in the development of techniques to set up and operate systems in which networks are connected together, and universal standards are being developed, although not all networks are able to follow them
