Abstract

I am a Lecturer in Competition Law and Regulation at the University of Reading School of Law. My research interests span across competition law, utilities regulation and public law. I am making a submission because of my academic interest in the implications of Brexit for energy policy. This submission explores Questions 1 and 2 and focuses on the impact of Brexit for energy market liberalisation and the UK’s future relationship with the Internal Energy Market (IEM). It does not consider security of energy supply implications and the effect on Northern Ireland, which is a separate market from the rest of the UK market for electricity.
