Abstract
Since the Earth Summit held at Rio in 1992, the British government and governments of 150 other countries have confirmed their commitment to the principles of sustainable development and to taking practical measures to implement them. May Cassar explains what sustainable development means in principle and how museums can contribute to the objectives of sustainability in practice.
