Title: Appropriation of mobile cultural resources for learning
Open access status: An open access version is available from UCL Discovery
Additional information: In this paper proposes appropriation as the key for the recognition of mobile devices as well as the artefacts accessed through, and produced with them as cultural resources in and across different cultural practices of use, in particular everyday life and formal education. It analyses the interrelationship of mobile device users with the structures, agency and practices of, and in relation to, what the paper terms the 'mobile complex', and proposes a typology of appropriation. This paper appears in 'International Journal of Mobile and Blended Learning', authored by Norbert Pachler, John Cook and Ben Bachmair. Copyright 2010, IGI Global, www.igi-global.com.
