Title: | Queen bees, workers and drones: gender performance in virtual learning groups |
ISBN: | 1615208135 |
Additional information: | This chapter draws on research on online groupwork using a combination of analysis of online discission boards and in-depth interviews with students. Much research on online interaction does not consider issues of equality and identity and interviews with students are not detailed. However, this methodology enabled gendered behaviour to be analysed and provides new insight into how groups online are gendered in similar ways to offline groups. |
