Abstract
This presentation sees Open Access (OA) as a new opportunity and opening for libraries, using UCL Library Services (University College London) as a Case Study.. The Library can take a lead in OA policy and advocacy at institutional level. The presentation also examines the Library's involvement in supporting Gold and Green OA in UCL. A major new development has been the launch of UCL Press, run from the Library, as the UK's first fully Open Access University Press. The outputs and success of the Press in its first year of operation are noted. The paper ends with conclusions about how OA has changed and enhanced the role of the Library in the institution.
