Abstract
A centuries old practice yet a 20th century construct, records management is concerned with the processes and controls for the creation, capture and management of an organization’s records to support that organization’s operations. It is also the term used for the professional practice of managing records. Its relationship with archival science has been the subject of much debate over the last century and perspectives on this remain divided.
