Abstract

This paper examines the encounter between cosmic voyage narratives and demonological knowledge around 1600, through the comparative study of the 1598 French translation of the German Faust (1587) and Johannes Kepler’s Somnium (1634), two works where the world is described from a demon’s aerial view-point.
