Postgraduate Diploma in Education: Academic Identity in the Built Environment academia: the Planner's realm.
Masters thesis , University College London.
Abstract
The dissertation looks into the nature of academic identity and of planning education and how shaping conceptions in/of higher education change the nature of disciplines and academic profile. It reflects on the pressures, challenges and credentialism in planning education through the lenses of the employability and global citizenship agenda as well as through the widening participation and access targets. Finally, it offers some thoughts on the changing European Higher Education arena and the need to introduce a modern language in the curriculum of Planning education.
