Abstract
This chapter explores how digital innovations can enhance the teaching and learning experience. It discusses the benefits of blended and online learning, as well as the requirements for such learning to be effectively implemented. Institutions face a number of challenges to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, but the approaches reviewed in this chapter can assist in overcoming such challenges. From the research findings discussed, this chapter recommends ways in which higher education institutions across the world can play a role in promoting digital innovations in learning and thus enhance the accessibility to education for a larger population.
