Abstract

How can comics and zines (small DIY booklets) be used as tool for reflection in the research process? In this interactive workshop you will find out how the multimodal medium of comics can help you develop you own reflexivity. The workshop will explore the idea that, using comics, researchers “can draw on a range of rhetorical resources to express their insights and reflections in ways that more traditional forms of representation struggle to achieve”( McGarr et al., 2021, p.2). You will learn to fold and make a zine, and through words and pictures get a chance to create your own reflective comic!
