Abstract
We often talk in the UK and the western world about the silence and taboos that exist around miscarriage. Opening up the topic and encouraging more conversations are very much part of our work at the M.A.. But as anthropologist Susie Kilshaw writes below, these aren’t universal problems. In some contexts, countries and cultures, miscarriage is talked about more openly and while it may be distressing, it is also seen as a normal part of a woman’s reproductive life.
