Abstract
Whilst vulnerability is discussed and highlighted in research methods literature, there is a noticeable absence of guidelines on how researchers may consider approaching their vulnerability, and/or exploring their emotional responses. This chapter seeks to redress this gap by offering an insight into how research journaling may be a practical tool to support researchers. Drawing on my experiences as a researcher and research supervisor, I offer some practical strategies and examples for the role a research journal can effectively play, whilst also outlining future opportunities for researchers to engage with research journaling in the context of their own vulnerability. The conclusion reiterates key messages from the chapter.
