Abstract

Dieses Kapitel postuliert ein Modell für Entwicklungspathologie, das sich auf jüngste Forschung stützt, die einen einzelnen Faktor für psychische Störungen (den p-Faktor) ausmacht, und das darüber hinaus versucht, die Rolle der weiter gefassten sozialen und kulturellen Umgebung zu integrieren. Es wird ein kulturell-entwicklungsbasierter Ansatz zum Verständnis von Psychopathologie vorgeschlagen, der das Denken zur sozial und kulturell vermittelten Natur der menschlichen kognitiven Entwicklung im Blick hat. Dieser Blick berücksichtigt die Art und Weise, wie Menschen Kultur lernen, kommunizieren und wie sich unter einer Mentalisierungsperspektive die subjektive Fähigkeit zur Affektregulation und zum sozialen Leben entwickelt. This chapter proposes a model for developmental psychopathology that is informed by recent research suggestive of a single model of mental health disorder (the p factor) and seeks to integrate the role of the wider social and cultural environment into the model. Informed by recently emerging thinking on the social and culturally driven nature of human cognitive development, the ways in which humans are primed to learn and communicate culture, and a mentalizing perspective on the highly intersubjective nature of our capacity for affect regulation and social functioning, we set out a cultural–developmental approach to psychopathology.
