Abstract
This is a personal reflection, upon reading the articles in this special issue, on race, nationality and language from a Manchu-Chinese immigrant in the UK's perspective. Through a number of personal stories, I discuss my own experiences with Chineseness on the margins. I also want to explore ways of taking the discussion and research forward in future studies.
