Abstract
This report investigates thermal comfort and ventilation issues in one of Oxford's newest hospitals. The research involved monitoring the internal and external conditions for one month, and the completion of a patient questionnaire. The environmental design software TAS was used to simulate the current building conditions and to simulate different ventilation strategies and their effects. The report finds that a natural ventilation strategy would successfully cool and ventilate part of the hospital, but that its implementation would not be practical. The report also finds that the level of thermal comfort could be increased if the existing air supply and extract system was modified.
