Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the contributions that the History and Philosophy of Science (HFC) can bring to the training activities of science teachers. Through the presentation of impressions constructed during the conduct of a historical research on the Sciences in the Brazilian colonial period by a Chemistry teacher during his Master's project, we seek to highlight the potential that contact with historical-scientific materials represents for teacher education. critical and aware about scientific activities. Among these reflections, we highlight important contributions from HFC and the manipulation of primary historical sources for the training of science teachers (both through the Bachelor and Pedagogy courses).
