Abstract

Within the Department of Computer Science at University College London (UCL), the INDRA research group has been investigating different aspects of computer networks over the last ten years. During this period increasing attention has been given to the area of network interconnection. As a result of this research, UCL now offers a network interconnection facility for use by scientists and researchers in the UK and the US. This paper describes the internetwork facilities we provide and shows how they developed out of the research. It outlines how it has been able to evolve with the change of protocols on the different sides of the Atlantic, and should move towards the incorporation of the emerging international Standards.
