Abstract

This research used longitudinal data to explore the extent to which people were gaining qualifications in adulthood from ages 23 to 50 and also the amount of “upgrading” (moving to higher levels of qualification than previously held). IOE Research Briefings are short descriptions of significant research findings, based on the wide range of projects carried out by IOE researchers.
