Additional information: | This working paper summarises the results of a series of cognitive assessments completed by a nationally representative sample of 50 year old members of the National Child Development Study. The assessments conducted at 50 were the first assessments completed since childhood allowing for the first time the analysis of variation in levels of cognition in adulthood. The finding that women outperformed men on the memory assessments attracted considerable attention in the media. |
