It is seen as particularly valuable for visualizing ecological overshoot but debates about methodological soundness have undermined this potential. This paper examines the emerging opportunities for advanced footprinting approaches that use input–output analysis to test ‘what if?’ policy scenarios and hence turn EF into a proactive driver for sustainability-oriented policy development. It focuses on the London case and the specific arena of planning policy for sustainable construction. date: 2007 official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/13549830601098198 vfaculties: VBEF oa_status: green language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green article_type_text: Article verified: verified_manual elements_source: Manually entered elements_id: 75372 doi: 10.1080/13549830601098198 lyricists_name: Moore, Susan lyricists_name: Rydin, Yvonne lyricists_id: SMMOO10 lyricists_id: YJRYD57 full_text_status: public publication: Local Environment volume: 12 number: 1 pagerange: 1 - 16 issn: 1354-9839 citation: Rydin, Y; Moore, S; Nye, M; (2007) ‘Using Ecological Footprints as a Policy Driver: the case of sustainable construction planning policy in London’.
