However, as the FP sensor is optically addressed by sequentially scanning an interrogation laser beam over its surface, the acquisition speed is low. To address this, a novel scanner architecture employing 8 interrogation beams and an optimised sub-sampling framework have been developed that increase the data acquisition speed significantly. With a 200Hz repetition rate excitation laser, full 3D images can be obtained within 10 seconds. Further increases in imaging speed with only minor decreases in image quality can be obtained by applying sub-sampling techniques with rates as low as 12.5%. This paper shows 3D images reconstructed from sub-sampled data for an ex vivo dataset, and results from a dynamic phantom imaging experiment. date: 2017-03-23 date_type: published publisher: Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1117/12.2250868 oa_status: green full_text_type: pub language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green verified: verified_manual elements_id: 1296433 doi: 10.1117/12.2250868 isbn_13: 9781510605701 lyricists_name: Arridge, Simon lyricists_name: Beard, Paul lyricists_name: Betcke, Marta lyricists_name: Cox, Benjamin lyricists_name: Huynh, Nam lyricists_name: Lucka, Felix lyricists_name: Zhang, Edward lyricists_id: SRARR14 lyricists_id: PCBEA63 lyricists_id: MMBET00 lyricists_id: BTCOX21 lyricists_id: NTHUY05 lyricists_id: FLUCK81 lyricists_id: EZZHA53 actors_name: Flynn, Bernadette actors_id: BFFLY94 actors_role: owner full_text_status: public series: Proceedings of SPIE publication: PHOTONS PLUS ULTRASOUND: IMAGING AND SENSING 2017 volume: 10064 pagerange: 100641Y-1-100641Y-5 pages: 5 event_title: SPIE BiOS 2017: Photons Plus Ultrasound: Imaging and Sensing 201728 January - 2 February 2017, San Francisco, California, United States event_location: San Francisco, CA event_dates: 29 January 2017 - 01 February 2017 institution: Conference on Photons Plus Ultrasound - Imaging and Sensing issn: 0277-786X book_title: Photons Plus Ultrasound: Imaging and Sensing 2017: Proceedings editors_name: Oraevsky, AA editors_name: Wang, LV citation: Huynh, N; Lucka, F; Zhang, E; Betcke, M; Arridge, S; Beard, P; Cox, B; (2017) Sub-sampled Fabry-Perot photoacoustic scanner for fast 3D imaging.
