Directly or indirectly, health relates to almost every aspect of early childhood. This article reviews the enormous range of research available, examining the aims and purposes of the studies, their methods and findings and the ways in which childhood and child-adult relationships are conceptualized. In particular, this article is concerned with whether the evidence available arises from studies concerned with cost-effectiveness or with equity and the re-distribution of wealth and resources. date: 2011-06-23 date_type: published official_url: http://doi.org/10.1177/1476718X10387896 oa_status: green full_text_type: other language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green article_type: review verified: verified_manual elements_id: 1106509 doi: 10.1177/1476718X10387896 lyricists_name: Alderson, Priscilla lyricists_id: DPALD60 full_text_status: public publication: Journal of Early Childhood Research volume: 9 number: 2 pagerange: 125-136 issn: 1476-718X citation: Alderson, P; (2011) Trends in research about health in early childhood: Economics and equity, from micro-studies to big business.
