This has far-reaching implications and repercussions for science, the philosophy of science, academic inquiry in general, the conception of rationality, and how we go about attempting to make progress towards as good a world as possible. Despite these far-reaching repercussions, aim-oriented empiricism has so far received scant attention from philosophers of science. Here, sixteen objections to the validity of the argument for aim-oriented empiricism are subjected to critical scrutiny. date: 2015 date_type: published publisher: Estonian Association of the History and Philosophy of Science official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.11590/abhps.2015.2.01 oa_status: green full_text_type: pub language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green article_type_text: Article verified: verified_manual elements_id: 1094433 doi: 10.11590/abhps.2015.2.01 lyricists_name: Maxwell, Nicholas lyricists_id: ANMAX22 actors_name: Maxwell, Nicholas actors_id: ANMAX22 actors_role: owner full_text_status: public publication: Acta Baltica Historiae et Philosophiae Scientiarum volume: 3 number: 2 pagerange: 5-31 pages: 27 event_location: Estonia issn: 2228-2009 citation: Maxwell, N; (2015) What’s Wrong With Aim-Oriented Empiricism?
