The work was commissioned by NHS Connecting for Health, the UK Department of Health agency responsible for the implementation of the National Programme for Information Technology. The aim was to capture front-line experience of the project and systems implementation, and to share it with staff who will in the future participate in other implementations. Data were drawn from detailed interviews with staff and a survey in 13 hospitals in England, as well as a review of published studies of implementations. The study output is a report and six user-facing briefing documents targeted at key stakeholder groups; nurses, pharmacist, doctors, senior executives, implementation team members and IM&T staff. date: 2010-01-01 publisher: IOS PRESS official_url: http://ebooks.iospress.nl/volume/medinfo-2010 vfaculties: VFLS oa_status: green full_text_type: pub language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green article_type_text: Proceedings Paper verified: verified_manual elements_source: Scopus elements_id: 411354 doi: 10.3233/978-1-60750-588-4-233 lyricists_name: Barber, Nicholas lyricists_name: Franklin, Bryony lyricists_name: Jani, Yogini lyricists_name: Savage, Imogen lyricists_id: NBARB21 lyricists_id: BFRAN90 lyricists_id: YHJAN61 lyricists_id: LSP0013 full_text_status: public series: Studies in Health Technology and Informatics publication: MEDINFO 2010, PTS I AND II volume: 160 place_of_pub: Cape Town, South Africa pagerange: 233-237 pages: 5 event_title: IMIA’s Medinfo 2010 conference event_location: Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA issn: 0926-9630 book_title: Studies in Health Technology and Informatics editors_name: Safran, C editors_name: Reti, S editors_name: Marin, HF citation: Cornford, T; Savage, I; Jani, Y; Franklin, BD; Barber, N; Slee, A; Jacklin, A; (2010) Learning lessons from electronic prescribing implementations in secondary care.
