Provider and survivor perspectives on (1) what constitutes mental health, (2) quality of care, and (3) priority areas and stakeholders for intervention were identified through framework analysis of 53 in-depth interviews. Desired care is chiefly psychosocial—not psychological—prioritizing socioeconomic, parenting, and safe environment needs in non-clinical community settings. Our evidence points strongly to the need to strengthen non-mental health community-based providers as “first contacts” and reassessment of health system-centric interventions which neglect preferred community responses and more holistic approaches accounting for women's full circumstances. date: 2024-02-23 date_type: published publisher: SAGE Publications official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1177/10778012241230326 oa_status: green full_text_type: pub language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green verified: verified_manual elements_id: 2252892 doi: 10.1177/10778012241230326 medium: Print-Electronic lyricists_name: Devakumar, Delanjathan lyricists_name: Palfreyman, Alexis lyricists_id: DDEVA49 lyricists_id: ADPAL49 actors_name: Kalinowski, Damian actors_id: DKALI47 actors_role: owner funding_acknowledgements: 17/63/47 [National Institute for Health and Care Research] full_text_status: public publication: Violence Against Women pages: 24 event_location: United States citation: Palfreyman, Alexis; Vijayaraj, Kavitha; Riyaz, Safiya; Rizwan, Zahrah; Sivayokan, Sambasivamoorthy; Thenakoon, TH Samanmalee; Dayabandara, Madhubashinee; ...
