Other religions have found themselves in a similar situation, and they were practically forced to move online, which is an unprecedented occasion. In this paper, we analyse this sudden change in religious activities twofold: we create and deliver a questionnaire, as well as analyse Twitter data, to understand people’s perceptions and activities related to religious activities online. Importantly, we also analyse the temporal variations in this process, by analysing a period of 3 months: July-September 2020. Additionally to the separate analysis of the two data sources, we also discuss the implications from triangulating the results. date: 2024-01-22 date_type: published publisher: IEEE official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1109/bigdata59044.2023.10386754 oa_status: green full_text_type: other language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green verified: verified_manual elements_id: 2252268 doi: 10.1109/bigdata59044.2023.10386754 isbn_13: 979-8-3503-2445-7 lyricists_name: Yu, Jialin lyricists_id: JJYUX24 actors_name: Yu, Jialin actors_id: JJYUX24 actors_role: owner full_text_status: public pres_type: paper series: IEEE International Conference on Big Data (BigData) publication: 2023 IEEE International Conference on Big Data (BigData) volume: 2023 place_of_pub: Sorrento, Italy pagerange: 5704-5713 event_title: 2023 IEEE International Conference on Big Data (BigData) event_dates: 15 Dec 2023 - 18 Dec 2023 book_title: Proceedings of the 2023 IEEE International Conference on Big Data (BigData) citation: Aduragba, Olanrewaju Tahir; Yu, Jialin; Cristea, Alexandra I; (2024) Religion and Spirituality on Social Media in the Aftermath of the Global Pandemic.
