Low dose and low fluence electron microscopy experiments are the only practical way to acquire useful data from beam sensitive pharmaceutical and biological materials. Appropriate modeling of low fluence images acquired using direct electron detectors is, therefore, paramount for quantitative analysis of the experimental images. We have developed a new open-source Python package to accurately model any single layer direct electron detector for low and high fluence imaging conditions, including a means to validate against experimental data through computation of modulation transfer function and detective quantum efficiency. date: 2023-08 date_type: published publisher: OXFORD UNIV PRESS official_url: https://doi.org/10.1093/micmic/ozad064 oa_status: green full_text_type: pub language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green verified: verified_manual elements_id: 2038821 doi: 10.1093/micmic/ozad064 medium: Print pii: 7224305 lyricists_name: Stewart, Andrew lyricists_id: ASTEW13 actors_name: Stewart, Andrew actors_id: ASTEW13 actors_role: owner funding_acknowledgements: [University of Limerick] full_text_status: public publication: Microscopy and Microanalysis volume: 29 number: 4 pagerange: 1380-1401 pages: 22 event_location: England issn: 1431-9276 citation: Mangan, Gearoid Liam; Moldovan, Grigore; Stewart, Andrew; (2023) InFluence: An Open-Source Python Package to Model Images Captured with Direct Electron Detectors.
