%X The boundaries of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) research demarcate both what is known  about the phenomenon and the areas where further enquiry is deemed warranted. By  understanding the boundaries of M&A, researchers can define and contextualise their  knowledge for precision and depth of inquiry to ‘stand on the shoulders of giants’ by building  upon previous findings.
