However, there is limited existing guidance on the specific systematic checks that should be undertaken to confirm and enhance data quality for individual participant data meta-analyses and how to conduct these checks. We aim to address this gap by developing a checklist of items for data quality checking and cleaning to be applied to individual participant data meta-analyses of randomised trials. This study will comprise three phases: 1) a scoping review to identify potential checklist items; 2) two e-Delphi survey rounds among an invited panel of experts followed by a consensus meeting; and 3) pilot testing and refinement of the checklist, including development of an accompanying R-markdown program to facilitate its uptake. date: 2022-10-11 date_type: published publisher: Public Library of Science (PLoS) official_url: https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0275893 oa_status: green full_text_type: pub language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green verified: verified_manual elements_id: 1982027 doi: 10.1371/journal.pone.0275893 lyricists_name: Godolphin, Peter lyricists_id: PGODO03 actors_name: Godolphin, Peter actors_id: PGODO03 actors_role: owner full_text_status: public publication: PLoS ONE volume: 17 number: 10 article_number: e0275893 citation: Hunter, Kylie E; Webster, Angela C; Clarke, Mike; Page, Matthew J; Libesman, Sol; Godolphin, Peter J; Aberoumand, Mason; ...
