By bringing together experts from philosophy, cognitive and affective neuroscience, clinical and computational psychiatry we have attempted to set out the current state of the art and point to areas of further enquiry. One stimulus for doing this is the need to engage with policy makers who are now having to consider guidelines on suicide and assisted suicide so that they may be aware of their own as well as the wider populations' cognitive processes when confronted with the ultimate truth of mortality. date: 2022-05-07 date_type: published publisher: SAGE Publications official_url: https://doi.org/10.1177/00302228221100640 oa_status: green full_text_type: pub language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green verified: verified_manual elements_id: 1956315 doi: 10.1177/00302228221100640 medium: Print-Electronic lyricists_name: David, Anthony lyricists_name: Fleming, Stephen lyricists_id: ADDAV87 lyricists_id: SMFLE69 actors_name: Kalinowski, Damian actors_id: DKALI47 actors_role: owner full_text_status: public publication: OMEGA - Journal of Death and Dying event_location: United States issn: 0030-2228 citation: Kuylen, Margot; Han, Shihui; Harris, Lasana; Huys, Quentin; Monsó, Susana; Pitman, Alexandra; Fleming, Stephen M; Kuylen, Margot; Han, Shihui; Harris, Lasana; Huys, Quentin; Monsó, Susana; Pitman, Alexandra; Fleming, Stephen M; David, Anthony S; - view fewer <#> (2022) Mortality Awareness: New Directions.
