Through a qualitative inquiry of the Venice Biennale, we explore the governance interface between the owner organization and its temporary project delivery organization in the form of a film festival. We examine a flexible, interpersonal approach to project governance, uncover aspects of the interpersonal approach such as trust, relative autonomy and dialogue; and the role organizational identity plays in designing the project governance framework. It contributes to theory on project governance, and how organizational identity shapes that governance. %K Project governance; governance interface; owner organizational identity; festival projects %T The governance interface and owner organizational identity to enable research and innovation: The Venice Biennale case %B EURAM 2021 Conference: Reshaping capitalism for a sustainable world (EURAM conference) %C Online %D 2021
