abstract = {Increasingly, many organizations work on the interface between permanent and temporary organizing, the governance of which is still insufficiently understood. Through a qualitative inquiry of the Venice Biennale, we explore the governance interface between the owner organization and its temporary project delivery organization in the form of a film festival. We examine a flexible, interpersonal approach to project governance, uncover aspects of the interpersonal approach such as trust, relative autonomy and dialogue; and the role organizational identity plays in designing the project governance framework. It contributes to theory on project governance, and how organizational identity shapes that governance.},
