X-ray micro-computed\r\ntomography (micro-CT) was introduced to characterise\r\nthe internal microstructure of the proposed concrete\r\nmaterial, while the thermal performance of the concrete\r\nmaterial was evaluated by a model consisting of microCT sample scanning, finite element analysis (FEA) sample\r\nmodelling and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)\r\nthermal simulation. It is found that the PCM\r\nencapsulated by dip-coating technique exhibits good\r\nquality during concrete mixing and curing. Even PCM\r\ndistribution and favoured PCM/GPC compactibility were\r\nobserved in the proposed GPC-PCM sample. In addition,\r\na slightly higher air void content was resulted by the\r\nincorporation of PCM.
