N2 - Digital technologies offer opportunities for creating new experiences that enable interaction that is grounded in physical action, manipulation and physical location through sensors and context aware capabilities. This brings new ways of communicating and engaging with the world that can remediate meaning making through embodied forms of interaction. This chapter draws on multimodality to explore young children?s physical engagement with a digital museum art installation, illustrating how children use their bodies creatively in interaction with the exhibit, communication with one another, expression of ideas through action, and construction of a joint narrative.
